ABOUT RAGINDAIRO
Ragindairo is a new work by Norwegian tuba player and composer Lars Andreas Haug, written for Lars Andreas Haug Band and Indian bansuri virtuoso Amith Nadig.
The project grew out of Haug's long-standing interest in Indian music and explores the meeting between Indian melodic and rhythmic traditions and the band's own musical language. Rather than placing two traditions side by side, Ragindairo brings them into one shared musical space, where composition and improvisation constantly interact.
The eight-piece ensemble brings together musicians from Norway, Germany and India, with an unusual palette of tuba, bansuri, voice, trumpet, accordion, piano, tubax, bass flute, synthesizer and drums.
Ragindairo was premiered at Arendal Kulturhus, Norway, on September 11, 2026.
